Butterflies Forest School

Butterflies Afternoon School Club on Wednesdays in term time at Millennium Woods, Witchford, is a relaxed, friendly space for children to unwind, play and connect after school. Run by qualified, DBS-checked Forest School leaders, the sessions offer gentle structure with plenty of freedom. They offer a collection service from Rackham Primary School. Sessions are open to all aged from 4 to 13 years.
Fire and chill
Nature and environment
Fire & Chill is a local outdoor youth group based in Witchford, just outside of Ely. The group meets on Wednesdays between 5 and 7pm at the Witchford Village Hall and its adjoining playing fields. The group operates on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Open Spaces
Nature and environment
Witchford Open Spaces Group is an independent community-based organisation consisting of volunteers actively working for conservation and people’s enjoyment of the countryside. They have been active in the village since their formation in 1989. The group works closely with individuals, other village groups, and Witchford Parish Council. The group welcomes volunteers of any age, and typically meet once a month on Sunday.
Team D
Nature and environment
Team D is an independent community-based organisation consisting of volunteers actively supporting the sustainability of the village, from repair and maintenance of benches to creation of new features which are available for villagers such as the book shares.
Tree Warden
Nature and environment
The Witchford Tree Warden helps record, monitor and celebrate trees across the village, supports local tree planting and care, and encourages residents to notice and protect the trees that make Witchford greener and more resilient.
Witchford Beaver Scouts
Nature and environment
The Beavers meet on Mondays in term time, between 5.45 and 6.45pm at the Scout Hut in Witchford Village College. It caters for children between 6 and 8 years old.
Witchford Cub Scouts
Nature and environment
The cubs meet on Thursdays during term time, between 6.30 and 8pm at the Scout Hut in Witchford Village college. It caters for children between 8 and 10 years old.
Witchford Parish Council
Community and civic life
Witchford Parish Council is the first tier of local government for the village, supporting local services, facilities and community wellbeing. Its work includes green spaces, trees, allotments, planning, highways, community grants and environmental initiatives. All Parish Council meetings are open to the public
Witchford Scouts
Nature and environment
The Scouts meet on Mondays during term time, between 7 and 8.30pm at the Scout Hut in Witchford Village College. It caters for young adults between 10.5 and 14.5 years old.
