What Sustainable Witchford is
Sustainable Witchford is a new community-led network for the village.
The network aims to highlight and support the work that individuals, groups, organisations and businesses are already doing to make Witchford more sustainable, while encouraging and nurturing new ideas with the same goal.
This site is intended to act as a simple shared space for local information, including community groups, practical projects, events, resources and ways to get involved.
What sustainability means here
Sustainability is sometimes used to mean only climate or environmental action. Those things are important, but the idea is broader than that.
For Sustainable Witchford, sustainability is linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, often known as the 17 Goals or SDGs.
The goals provide a broad way of thinking about what makes a place sustainable, including:

Taking part does not require joining a formal organisation. Residents can share an idea, support a project, attend an event, volunteer occasionally, provide information, offer skills, or simply follow what is happening locally.
Logo competition
Sustainable Witchford does not yet have a final visual identity. A local logo competition is being used to invite residents to help shape how the network looks and feels.
